Clean Paleo Comfort Food Cookbook
How to Use This Book
All the recipes in this book are easy enough for a cook with any level of experience to make. Some are quicker and have shorter ingredient lists than others, but none are overly complicated. I love recipes with short ingredient lists and quick steps, but I won’t sacrifice flavor for ease. Sometimes it’s worth it to take the time to make the more involved dishes. I like to save those for the weekend, when time isn’t as pressed.
Be sure to read every recipe through entirely before starting. This will help ensure you are making it correctly and adding ingredients at the right time.
There is a chapter of basics that are easy to make, but most of these are now available as store-bought items. Don’t feel like every ingredient needs to be homemade to make it a successful dish. Take shortcuts where needed to make a recipe work for you. It’s more affordable to make condiments from scratch, but it’s less time-consuming to buy paleo versions in the store. Both are equally good options.
Each recipe has a key labeling it nut free, egg free, and/or low FODMAP, when appropriate, so you can tell right away whether it fits your needs.
I love getting my daughter involved in the kitchen; even at a young age, she can add ingredients to a bowl, stir, and scoop. She has a kid’s knife to help cut fruit and veggies, and we have a good time together. She is always more likely to try a food she helped prepare as well, which is an added benefit.
I would love for you to find a friend, child, or significant other with whom to share the cooking experience. It is more fun and rewarding when you’re cooking, eating, and even cleaning up with someone. You are creating positive memories and an enjoyable experience around food.
Enjoy!
With this cookbook, you can stick to your clean paleo diet and enjoy craveable recipes like:
Broccoli and Ham Crustless Quiche
A few simple ingredients come together in this recipe to create a pleasing breakfast. This is great served with a side of fruit to make a complete meal.
YIELD 4–6 SERVINGS
PREP TIME 25 MINUTES
COOK TIME 50 MINUTES
LOW FODMAP, NUT FREE IF COCONUT MILK IS SUBSTITUTED FOR ALMOND MILK
Sweet Potato Fries with Special Sauce
These sweet potato fries are crispy thanks to the arrowroot powder and salting after baking. The sauce has a little spice that tastes amazing with the potatoes’ sweetness.
YIELD 3–4 SERVINGS
PREP TIME 10 MINUTES
COOK TIME 30 MINUTES
EGG FREE IF THE SAUCE ISN’T USED, LOW FODMAP, NUT FREE (IF YOU DON’T NEED LOW FODMAP, YOU MAY ADD ¼ TEASPOON GARLIC POWDER TO THE SAUCE.)
Bourbon Chicken
This used to be my favorite dish to buy from the mall food court. This remake, named after the famed street in New Orleans, has much less sugar, but it still has all the flavor! It’s delicious served with zucchini noodles or cauliflower rice.
YIELD 4–6 SERVINGS
PREP TIME 5 MINUTES
COOK TIME 27 MINUTES
NUT FREE, EGG FREE
Philly Cheesesteak Skillet
Using ground beef is a shortcut that makes this dish come together quickly. The mayo topping is in place of the traditional cheese and adds great creaminess.
YIELD 6–8 SERVINGS
PREP TIME 15 MINUTES
COOK TIME 30 MINUTES
EGG FREE, NUT FREE
French Onion Soup with Meatballs
The classic French onion soup is taken to the next level with the addition of tender meatballs. Doing so makes it a complete meal, and they pair perfectly together. The onions take a little time to cook down, but it’s worth it because they become beautifully caramelized and sweet.
YIELD 8 SERVINGS
PREP TIME 15 MINUTES
COOK TIME 1 HOUR 10 MINUTES
NUT FREE
Strawberry Mini Cheesecakes
Cheesecake with no dairy is possible. The lemon juice gives it the tang that usually comes from the cream cheese. This dessert is no-bake, not too sweet, and so heavenly. You’ll need to soak the cashews for 4 hours ahead of time, but if you are in a hurry, soak the cashews in hot water for 1 hour; change the water a couple times as it cools.
YIELD 10 SERVINGS
PREP TIME 20 MINUTES
CHILL TIME AT LEAST 2 HOURS
EGG FREE

I have been following Jessicaâs blog for about four years now and was SO excited to hear of an upcoming cook book. I HAD TO buy it !My book arrived today- YAY!!!I was happy to see many recipes not on her blog, in the cook book. I also think the images are so nice and styled beautifully.Side note: I know some have mentioned that not every recipe has an image- thatâs true but donât let that be a deal breaker for you! Keep reading…I have recommended Jessicaâs blog to many friends seeking dairy and grain free recipes because her recipes are easy to follow, require simple ingredients, and honestly, Iâve made many of her recipes and theyâve all turned out and tasted wonderful. Literally, Iâve never tired one of her recipes and didnât like it.I also really like that these recipes are practical, have âhiddenâ veggies, and really helps one who is trying to do a lifestyle change.Iâm glad I can recommend her book now too! ð¤©

Incredibly tasty recipes – easy to follow!
I have followed Jessica’s site (Real Food with Jessica) for years and have always loved her recipes! I was so excited to get this cookbook and it did not disappoint! It’s so easy to read and the pictures are gorgeous! (Plus, cameos of her sweet daughter!) 🙂 The chicken parmesan casserole is incredible! (Pic attached) So so flavorful. I’ve also tried the peppermint patties, which are such a delight – bc I used to eat York’s for many years and had been missing that treat since getting rid of added sugar. It’s so great to make great-tasting food that I know is good for my body. Well well done, Jessica!

Great recipes and easy to follow and understand
This book is wrote with a beginner in mind to understand the Paleo cooking and baking. I received this book yesterday and I could not put it down, she gives so much information on what the different flours are to use and if a substitute is ok. In the first few pages she explains to help following a Paleo diet easier and gives things to have on hand, this is more than a cookbook , Jessica even gave recipes on how to make mayo and ketchup and others and with ingredients most has at home. I have tried a couple recipes already and I have to say wow I cant say enough how happy I am that I ordered this book.

Recipes that are simple, healthy AND delish!
I was so excited when I saw that Jessica had a cookbook out! I’ve tried her recipes in the past through her website, and they’ve been a total game changer. (I’ve been strictly paleo for four years to help keep autoimmune issues under control.) They’re not difficult (even for someone like me who is NOT a whiz in the kitchen) and don’t have enormous, exotic ingredient lists, yet they’re consistently delicious and healthy. I’ve already tried baking the pecan pie muffins in this cookbook (SO good, as expected from a recipe with “pie” and “muffin” in the title!) and I have sticky notes marking about 20 more I can’t wait to try.

LOVE this cookbook
LOVE LOVE LOVE this book!! Iâve been following her for a few years on Instagram and have been making her recipes here and there, I was ecstatic to learn she finally made a cookbook. When I finally received it, we were not disappointed. The organization of the recipes is great and straight forward. I have MCAS and POTS so i canât eat most of the recipes without making substitutions that are safe for me. I can make most of her baked good recipes without messing with the recipes. I love to make her dinner recipes for my boys, they absolutely love her ideas and food!! I highly recommend this book to anyone, especially people wanting âtreatsâ but on a healthier note.

Easy, tasty…feel-good food
I got this book because I know the author’s sister. I struggle with some digestive issues, so am always working toward the right balance. I love to cook, so need good flavor and these recipes come through. It has always bothered me that commercial barbecue sauce is full of sugar. Her recipe is full of flavor. The ‘oatmeal’ is delicious. She is aware of textures and color, all of which make us enjoy foods. I’m happily working my way through the recipes.

Best paleo cookbook!
Have followed Jessica for a long time on social media and was so excited to receive her cookbook. The recipes are so simple and easy to follow! Some food bloggers add endless ingredients, not Jessica! And you wouldnât even know itâs paleo when you eat it. When I was first diagnosed with celiac disease her recipes saved me in the beginning. Giving me whole foods that were grain free and easy in my gut. You wonât regret buying this! Promise!

LOVE this book!
LOVE this book! Weâve always loved the recipes on Jayâs website, and thereâs tons of amazing new gems in this book! Mikeâs Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies are so amazing, I wouldnât know they are paleo if I didnât make them myself. Same with the Cheese Ball. Those two are among my top favorites, and really there plenty more that are fantastic. Highly recommended!

Picutres missing! Pictures are the inspiration for cooking something actually, from the consumer point of view. Only a few recipes have pictures… That is it disappointing :/ But recipes are OK…
