A Comprehensive and Practical Guide for Healthy Eating
Diabetic Diet After 50 offers a fantastic collection of over 2000 recipes tailored for those managing diabetes, especially for individuals over 50. The recipes are easy to follow, quick to prepare, and focus on low-carb and low-sugar ingredients, making it an excellent resource for anyone looking to maintain a balanced diet. One of the book’s strengths is its variety. Whether you’re looking for breakfast ideas, snacks, or full meals, there’s something for every occasion and taste. The recipes are not only healthy but also flavorful, which is essential when following a specific dietary plan.I appreciate the nutritional information provided for each recipe, as it helps in tracking carbohydrate and sugar intake. This feature is particularly useful for those who need to monitor their blood sugar levels closely. The book also includes tips and advice on managing diabetes through diet, which I found very informative. It explains the benefits of a low-carb, low-sugar diet in an easy-to-understand way, making it accessible even for those new to managing their condition. One minor downside is that some recipes require specialty ingredients that may not be readily available at all grocery stores. However, most of the recipes use common ingredients that are easy to find.Overall, Diabetic Diet After 50 is a valuable resource for anyone looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle while managing diabetes. It’s practical, easy to use, and packed with delicious recipes that make sticking to a diet enjoyable.

NOT Worth the MONEY – try free websites first!
This book is not worth the price – $20.00. It has only 75 pages of information that is presented in a large font, presumably to take up space so the book appears to have more substance than it does. The diabetes-related information at the beginning of the book presents material that can be found – for free – on any legitimate, health-related website, such as the American Diabetes Association’s web pages. The rest of the book is taken up with recipes — again, large font for the text and large pictures that take up space to make the material seem more extensive than it is. Many of the recipes are so rudimentary that they can hardly be called “recipes.” One example is “carrot sticks with guacamole. “Really? Is a carrot stick dipped in guacamole a recipe, as such? Another is “falafel and hummus wrap with cucumber.” Yes, a whole wheat wrap stuffed with something low-fat and vegetarian is a healthful quick bite that most of us eat regularly, but is it a “recipe” that’s worth putting in a $20 cookbook for diabetes management? I think not. To sum it up, this book is a bit of a cheat – very little value for the the money. You can get the same information from website with FREE recipes for diabetic meals, and you can get diabetes management info. at the Mayo Clinic website, the American Diabetes Association website, and many others. Save your money and try those first. This book is an expensive disappointment.

    Hard to understand
Everything is all jumbled up. Not easy to understand. They should LIST amount and ingredients. This book puts them all in one paragraph. So you have to continually read over the paragraph several times as your putting it together. Some of the recipes are pretty good if you can get over the frustration of reading thru the book.
