Hamilton Beach Blenders are known worldwide for making smooth and delicious blended drinks. Over the years, people have relied on Hamilton Beach for perfect icy drinks, shakes, smoothies, and the innovation that this historic brand is famous for. Usage of more frozen foods (fruit, ice cream, etc.) than liquids leads to the foods sticking to the sides of blender jars or the mixture becomes stiff (frozen) and will not flow.
ALL THE POWER YOU NEED TO MIX, PUREE & CRUSH ICE: This kitchen blender offers 14 blending functions and 700 watts of peak power, so you can whip, grate, grind, crush, puree, stir, and so much more
CONSISTENTLY SMOOTH RESULTS: The patented Wave-Action system is designed to continuously pull the mixture in the blender down into the blades for consistently smooth results without stirring
POWERFUL ICE CRUSHING PERFORMANCE: Patented Ice Sabre blades are uniquely designed for powerful ice crushing and performance-tested by crushing 2 tons of ice, making this the perfect blender for shakes and smoothies
EASY CLEANUP: The 40 oz. jar, lid, and blades of this blender are dishwasher safe for easy cleanup
BUILT TO LAST: Life-tested to blend 8,000 drinks, this kitchen blender is durable and built to last

    Amazon is the best!!!
This Hamilton Beach Wave Crusher is exactly what I was looking for! It has plenty of power to crush my carrots, broccoli, celery and other fibrous and/or hard vegetables to make a wonderful vegie smoothy for my lunches. I love eating healthy and this unit makes it easy to reach that goal. With my 19″ tall cabinets, the whole unit assembled with lid still leaves me 5″ of room to store it under the cabinet. I know this is a blender I will use for many years!! Highly recommended! FYI it was a return item that was in all the original packaging and absolutely NO signs of being used!!

Works pretty well but the lid is very badly designed
Reasonably good value and works well for most tasks BUTIt is not the best for frozen drinks. It lacks the power necessary to fold the frozen mass back down to the blades. It’s a delicate balance between being too liquid and too stiff.Requires that you be mindful to only use it for short periods and then run it without the blender on the base for a minute to allow the fan to cool the internals before leaving off. Otherwise you’ll notice the smell of overheated insulation. It’s also important to do this because the speed control uses an SCR component that will fail permanently if it overheats. This is true of all such speed contolled small appliances. Not a problem with this specific blender, just generally true of all similar appliances… Blenders, mixers, food processors all use SCRs and should all be run without a load for a minute to remove the heat from the motor and SCR before leaving them off.Underpowered appliances are particularly vulnerable because they are exposed to loads they can’t really handle, take longer to do the job and build up more heat because of this and this blender is slightly underpowered for demanding tasks like smoothies and frozen drinks. The worst failing of this blender though, isn’t being marginal on power. If you use it in bursts and cool it frequently, it will do the job eventually. The big problem is that the lid is very tight fitting and once the lid becomes cold, it doesn’t slip off easily. It can be a fight to get it off.I’ve broken pickle jars opening them by hand… This lid, once it gets cold and stiff is a SERIOUS fight to get it off.If you wanted to design a blender lid that was leak proof, it might be a strategy that could work, BUT the top of the lid has a little flap through which you can add ingredients that just lays there. It can’t deal, making the overly tight fitting lid, pointless. A simple quarter turn plug would have been less costly, easier to clean and would actually seal.Cleaning the base and blender body is very easy and very nicely designed for good base sealing, easy assembly and cleaning. The lid will require some small brushes and patience to clean it well.Reasonable value for the price.Slightly underpowered for frozen drinks but will eventually get it done.Base and blade, blade seal and sealing gland nut are excellently designed. The lid is horrible for the effort to remove it, to clean it, and it can’t possibly seal because it uses a flap rather than a plug for adding ingredients.

    Great for daily use.
We needed a blender to start making healthy smoothies for my husband and I and our three children. This blender is large enough to make 2 adult and 3 child smoothies In one go. It has shown to be durable and hold up against daily use.

This blender taught me how to hate.
This blender taught me rage. I didn’t know I could hate an inanimate object with so much passion before I started using this blender. I used to think that kind of hate was reserved for Nazis and University of Florida fans only, but no, I now can say I truly know myself better due to the experiences I’ve had with this blender.Let’s start with the blending option. I think if you wanted to mix food dye in with some water you might be able to after 20 or 30 minutes of blending, but ice? Ha! Smoothies? Think again sucker! Whipped cream? More like stirred froth. See, when the masochistic designers unzipped their leather masks and peeled back their eye patches long enough to settle on giving this thing a function they discovered what might be one of the single greatest designs in all of the history of futility. This blender can mysteriously mix the areas in contact with the blades with extreme prejudice while leaving any areas of liquid or “substance” above the blades completely unperturbed. Amazingly this blender can render ice at the bottom into pure liquid water in seconds while leaving the ice above more frozen than Elsa’s underwear. Some of you might be thinking “well just push the other stuff down dummy” and you’d be right if this weren’t designed by Pol Pot clones raised in Chinese sweat shops. Pushing things down just begins the second round of “mushed on the bottom and solid on the top”. Now, given 30 or 40 minutes of free time you might be able to eventually go through enough cycles of this to get everything in the blender mixed, and kudos to you buddy for having the patience and virtue to go through that process. I lack these virtues, which is why I bought a blender that I was hoping would cut down on my smoothie making time. It did what I did not think was possible, which was add time to an already laborious process of making smoothies by hand. The lid requires a degree in mechanical engineering to get on and off smoothly, which is great if you enjoy splashing your kitchen with blender contents, but my wife is the lead cleaning manager of our kitchen and I’m pretty sure I’d be restricted from all kitchen privileges if I continued opening the pseudo-smoothies I’ve been making without covering myself and the blender in a beach towel first. I hate laundry so I’m going to pass on the extra towel duty. Amazingly my wife hates this blender even more than I do; when I asked her if she wanted to contribute to the review she asked me how to spell a 10 minute scream. I’m pretty sure she put an add on Craiglist for a hitman to come by and take this thing out.If I could give this thing less than 1 star I would, but then again if I could give this thing Ebola I would do that also. I hereby sentence this blender to the death of a thousand hammer smashes, I would not dare allow someone else to attempt to use it lest I be tried for crimes against humanity (which I think the UN Council may need to consider for Hamilton Beach).

    Not the Best
A blender is a staple in our house and gets daily use for smoothies. This blender worked ok for about a week. After that it progressively started taking longer to chop the fruit. After using it for several months it now take at least 5-10 minutes of blending to get a smoothie without fruit chunks in the bottom. Also, if you don’t want it to leak, don’t ever take it apart at the bottom. I did that twice to clean it and after the second time, it will not seal tightly no matter what I do, so it leaks milk everywhere every time I use it. Feel like there are probably better options out there for a blender that gets daily use. If you want a blender to use every once in a while, this one is probably a good option for you.

I’ve had this blender before, and owned many other blenders and found myself coming back to this one, it’s not the greatest high tech blender but it does the job and I never have a clumpy smoothie drink when I use this blender. And I like that it’s really easy to clean once you just take it apart in pieces, which I didn’t realize until just recently.

The blender started smoking on our very first use from the bottom of the machine. I would not advise on purchasing this product. Very unsettling experience.
