You get what you pay for – budget weights. Not bad all things considered
In light of a recent ‘global pandemic’, I imagine many of us have found ourselves in a situation where the gyms are closed, and home exercise is the only alternative to keep fit.With that in mind, I sought to find the cheapest, and most flexible Dumbbell option on Amazon to fill that need. Rest assured, the Marcy product accomplishes that goal.The Dumbbells took around 1 week to arrive. The packaging is fairly poor but acceptable, and the plates come in a bit dirty with black/white dust covering them. Thankfully this dust can be wiped off fairly quickly with a little Clorox, so it’s not the biggest concern given the price point you get them for.The handles and clips to hold the plates are in fairly good condition. The clips are very small, but after a bit of stress testing have proven themselves to be more than sturdy enough.You receive four 7.5 lb plates, and four 2.5 lb plates. In total, that can get you to 20 lbs per dumbbell if you so choose. While it is possible to frontload a single dumbbell up to 30 lbs, it is not advised per the product instructions to go any higher than 20 lbs per handle.The plates can rotate quite a bit during workouts (if they are not firmly tightened), which can get a little annoying during use. In addition, they are very bulky (as you can likely see in the pictures). Despite these shortcomings, they get the job done – and that’s all there really is to it with weights.To conclude, these are good cheap Dumbbell options if you’re looking for a deal and don’t mind making a few concessions.

Okay quality for low price
Gave 5 stars because, for around 50 dollars of worth. It is okay to buy this dumbbells pair.But, it is not the sturdy pair we usually use in Gyms.If you dont disemble weights frequently. It is fine. Else, there is a movement in weights if you do heavy movements with weights.Though, Im not perfectly happy about this. But, im satisfied for 50 dollars with 40 pounds weight set.

Cheap but does the job
I guess there is a reason why it’s so cheap. Because it is cheap. You can tell the materials are cheap. Let me start off by talking about the shipment. I got the free delivery deal thing and even though it said 5-9 days. It actually came in 2 days after the order. Super fast 5/5 on that. But when it arrived, the box holding the weights was pretty smashed up its not usable and super dirty. Not sure where these shipments come from but boy are the weights and the box dirty as hell. There are sands or gravel or whatever inside the box with the weights. I decided to wash the weights and it started melting. Not really melting but black stuff started peeling off. I guess it’s because its rubber or whatever but small rubber ink thingys were peeling off. I don’t even know how to explain it. But after 30 mins of washing my tub looked like there was an oil spill. 1/5 there on the dirty job. After my weights dried I decided to try out the weights. Everything was fine until the spring clips. These clips are there to help hold the weights in place but boy are they hard to put on. and most likely super hard to take off too. could not had put it on myself without my friend helping. i originally wanted to do reps with all the weights on then slowly reducing the weights but it seems like its not possible because the spring clips are so hard to put on. maybe its just me but other than the spring clips and dirty shipment, the weights are a great set for its price. overall its a great set but i minus a few points for the dirtyness and the horrible spring clips. without the spring clips the dumbells are nothing more than normal 20lbs set because i can’t remove the weights and put on the clips without a 2nd person helping me. so it defeats the purpose of having a detachable dumbell bar + plates. I am thinking of buying a new pair of clips becuase these cheap clips are pretty useless. the weights are fine tho.

Great for the Price
I just received the dumbbells today. The box was in perfect condition. When I opened up, all was packed well and seemed fine. After reading the other review, I checked the weights closely. The weights were a little dirty, but I read the instructions before doing anything. The instructions said to clean the weights with a non-abrasive product, so I washed then under water and some kitchen soap. All was fine.The dumbbells come with 4 clips to hold the weights in place. They are very easy to use. I hand holds the weight on the dumbbell bar and the other hand pinches and puts the clip on the bar. Very easy to do.They are basic weights and for the price $21.77, no shipping and no tax, they are a great deal!!!.

These dumbbells are great for the price, stable and easy to use. I use them for exercising my arms, bench press, butterflies for chest over the bench.The clips are quite tight and hold the plates well.I have been using them since 3 weeks and never had any problem with them.I bought them for 70$ including tax.

everything came in the carrying case and was all there, good quality sturdy handles with good construction.this item is great compared to some others with plastic collars and hand grip area as those can become damaged or warped over time. This product came with the full metal bars and collars the weight plates themselves have a 1″ or 1.1″ hole for bar so they were easy to combine with my other small set I had to improve work outs. The handles and collars lock well together and there is no shifting or movement of the weights so no worries of them coming loose when your going hardas previously mentioned I added some of my current ones to the set from another manufacturer I notice that these plates are much thinner and would allow for more to be added to the bars and they have a nice black/dark color to them very fancy ;)I then gave my old ones to my son and now we can work out together :)All in all this is a high quality product the price is a tad on the high side but I do not regret the purchase the handles will last a very long time with their sturdy construction and there’s no weird smells or anything from any of the partsvery happy with this product and if I ever need to can always order more 1″ plates to add to them

Coming from someone who recently moved and now lives much further than any gym – this was a product I had to go for. For less than 100 CAD, every dollar was worth it. Of course like any product, it has its cons, the grip is terrible and I can feel my hands slipping – especially when doing hammer curls. The clamps are okay? they do their job but im always in the constant fear of them slipping off and those weights hitting the floor. The weights themselves are good, about 25lb per dumbbell is what you’re looking at if you use all the weights included. Definitely give this a shot if you’re on a budget!

Seems these are more expensive now but when I purchased it was only $50. At $50 for 2 20 pound wight you can’t go wrong. Will say they are a little bulky though and the package came in terrible condition.
