As a survivor of intimate partner violence and cancer, with over thirty-five years of recovery from substance use, Dawn Nickel recognizes the greater risk women in recovery have for developing a co-occurring disorder. “Recovering from all the things” is the phrase she uses to recognize the complexities behind recovery. In this book, Nickel provides help for anyone who identifies as a woman who is also in recovery or seeking recovery in any area of life. Those struggling with substance use, mental health, and related life challenges will benefit the most from her insightful, nonjudgmental writing. These daily meditations will inspire hope, reduce stigma, and empower all women in recovery.

A must-read for women wanting inspiring recovery messages
She Recovers Every Day is a gem of a book for women in recovery or considering recovery. Dawn writes her messages from the heart and shares her insights, experience, and compassion with her daily meditations. She explains what helped her through the years and reminds the reader that recovery is an individual experience. “We all need to be supported to find individualized pathways and patchworks of recovery. Period.”We need to help women earlier so they don’t have to hit rock bottom. Harm reduction saves lives. Self-care and optimism help us cope. When we know better, we do better. These are just a few of the many wise messages from this book. She Recovers Every Day is inspiring and motivating â the perfect addition to a daily routine and a gentle reminder that you can create your desired healthy life.I highly recommend this book to any woman wanting inspiration and a path forward to better herself.-Catherine Taughinbaugh, author of The Compassion Antidote: A Path to Change for You and Your Child Struggling with Substance Use

A great way to start the day
This book is a gem. The short one page nuggets for each day cover all kinds of things in such a non-judgment and supportive way. The topics are broad and varied – the next right step, compassion for self, loving effective communication, we choose our responses, we are here for a reason, as well as patchworks for recovery, codependency, intergenerational trauma and so much more. This book is uplifting and gives me something to think about everyday. My mornings are better because of this book!

AN INSPIRATIONAL WAY TO START YOUR DAY
This book is full of very wise words & reflections from author Dr. Dawn Nickel, PhD, the co-founder of She Recovers Foundation. Dawn has over 30 years of recovery and is a mentor to many. To have her words in print is a gift, and another tool to add to your toolbox of recovery. As a matter of fact, a woman need not be in recovery IMO to benefit from these readings, as these daily meditations can serve all who just want to better their lives. Love it!

Meditations for Every Woman
I purchased this book because my daughter-in-law was a member of the She Recovers community and I am a great supporter of this organization. Dawn and members of She Recovers were instrumental in helping Sarah during her sobriety journey.Sarah was sober for two years but she passed away suddenly a year ago. These meditations are helping me heal after her passing. She was a great friend as well as my daughter-in-law. I recently gifted this book to my cousin who read a few pages and was impressed.

I recommend this book for women in recovery. As the author says⦠weâre all recovering from something. Dawn is a decades-long friend⦠from our mutual addiction to recovery today. She knows the struggles and plainly lays out ways to consider change in our thoughts.
